Walk With Me.... a British EXCLUSIVE!!!

Well I just found out that Jamelia's third album, Walk With Me just leaked last week. So of course I had to download it first and see if it meets my standards b4 telling yall about it.... it does. This is her best album yet, less fillers unlike her sophomore cd. So here's my review...

WALK WITH ME Review

Something About You- I love this song, I wasn't expecting this from her. She went poppish rock on me when I thought she would do more R&B instead of Pop. Its about her getting sprung on a guy b/c of his swagger (charm).

8/10

Do Me Right- I'm iffy on this song, I liked it at first but after awhile it becomes lackluster. Rumored to be a single, I hope not she has betta selections. It features hip hop pioneer, Afrika Bambaataa but he sounds Jamaican (Elephant Man). She's tellin a guy what she can do for him and to make sure he "DOES" her right.

5/10

Window Shopping- The whole song is a metaphor about just shopping for a guy who knows how to fuck. Fuck everythin else but do you know how to put it DOWN. LMAO She's a mess.

6/10

Know My Name- She's coaching ladies on making sure that their men be on their game and know their names. I find it as Jamelia filler, she's known for that. The beat is cute LOL But not my cup of tea

2/10

No More- Finally another song that I can dig into. I love the background harmonies during the chorus and throughout the song. She's not putting up with his crap NO MORE! She's too good 4 that. The song is the shortest on the album at 2:54, us Americans would call that an interlude. Damn good one at that.

7/10

Ain't a Love- At 3:46, this is the longest song on the album. LOL She's addressing a guy who says that their not dating but gets mad when she gets with another man. Its a nice jam.

6/10

La La Love- I lalala love this song! She's telling a guy that she loves him and she's sorry that never told him or failed to show him. Very beautiful midtempo but would have been HOTTA as a ballad.

8/10

Go- Now the album gets REALLY good. Its a ballad about taking control of your life otherwise you'll resent it. I saw her do this live on AOL Sessions and she gets more soulful with some stronger vocals.

8/10

Get Up, Get Out- Stop sayin your sorry and your gonna change, when you know you gon do it again. Jamelia says Get Up & Get Out and she means it. Nice arrangements cuz she switches her singin style on from the verses, pre-chorus, chorus and even the bridge. Thats the main reason why I dig it.

6/10

Beware of the Dog- THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM!!!! Think Rihanna's SOS but instead of being saved, your being warned not to mess with this no good dog. Beware that this is her 2nd single. Her best uptempo EVER!!

10/10

Got It So Good- Celebrate your life with no drama, that chapter of your life is over. Very nice feel good song. Jamelia sounds great on this, her voice is filled with life and passion. Potential single.

9/10

Hustle- Another GREAT uptempo bout a guy having to hustle if you want her or to stay with her. The beat is very NICE, horns heavy and yall already know I love me some horns. But the horns aren't live so it has a very pop feel to it.

9/10

**Love Me**- This is a bonus song but she needs to put this on the album. Her best ballad I've ever heard. The music is piano driven and sounds very poignant. She sings with song calmness, that brings out the beauty in the lyrics. I told yall I love me some ballads, so you know this and See It In a Boys Eyes from her last album are my top 2 favorites from her.

12/10

Her best album by far. I wasn't a fan of her back when her debut came out cuz the singles SUCKED. Her sophomore is when I had found out about her from a few online friends of mine. I checked her out and fell in love with her beauty and voice. She reminds me of Kelly Rowland but with Beyonce's star appeal and diva-ness. This album will take her out of being just a pop star but make her the UK's leading lady in black music. I recently found out she has plans on crossing over to America wit this album and if thats true then she needs to redo most of the beats, show some range in her voice and change the lyrics up. All of those are my problems with this album. Alot of her material sounds like weak ass leftovers from singers in the US. I wish she could work with some of our producers and songwriters cuz they would give her a damn good album. But for the UK, this is some of the best work I've heard. C+
