I can't respond back to everybody so I'm glad yall are diggin the music and my commentary. As long as I have time, this blog will stay running. So far 330 hits... I'm off to a great start. *wink*

Also wanna thank my affiliates. Etienne Evolution (TripleEspot) is closing down his blog so if you want to wish him well and say goodbye to one of the blogs that inspired mine, now's the chance to do it. His blog will be deleted in a weeks time. I'm gonna miss you E, hopefully you can get at me so we can talk.

Thanks, God Bless and 1, love.

New Music

Whassup yall, I completely forgot to put up my albums reviews. Thats how you know that I haven't been impressed by this week's releases. I will have my full length Lupe Fiasco comfort piece (review) in a couple of weeks so be on the lookout for it. I haven't had time to go to the record store and I'm not downloading it. I heard it a couple times on AOL the leak and LOVED IT. All I can say that it is a MUST BUY for any hip hop fan. Now onto this week's reviews which are shorter for a reason.

20 Y.O Review
Janet, Janet, Janet... what the hell is wrong with you?? She has simply lost her niche for great albums and songs. This album is so damn weak and boring. Janet has went from setting standards to being an older, more sexually frustrated Ciara. Enjoy, With U and Take Care are the only songs worth a damn and even they are carbon copies of other songs. Janet lost her mind when she let JD produce on this cd. He doesn't know how to work with her voice. And his damn drum machine is annoyin as HELL. JD burn that machine, we are tired of it. There is no creativity outside of her using 80's samples to give it that throwback feel. Her fans are becoming worse than Mariah's lambs, buyin multiple copies just so she can sell. Thats a damn shame, her projected 1st week sales is between 300,000 and 350,00. LMAO. Beyonce, Christina and Justin had higher projections and actual sales then an icon who is falling short of legend. Also she has barely promoted the album, she still living off of the Super Bowl fiasco and hoe-ing herself to magazines. Damn shame once again. The only good thing I have to say about Janet is that she can still DANCE her ass off!!! She was on Oprah killin those dance moves. So she's doing the reverse Mimi (Mariah is dead, Mimi has been emancipated at last), Mimi had a GREAT album but her live performances SUCKED. Janet album SUCKS but her live performances are GREAT. D

Mario Vasquez
He's the Amercian Idol finalist that left the show due to him signin with Clive Davis. Well his album came out today to provide Ms. Jackson some competition. With no promotion, he'll be happy if he debuts in the Top 10. He has a very nice voice, one of the best hispanic ENGLISH singing artists out now. But his album is BORING. They gave him any ol song to sing, gave it a beat and put it on the album. There is no theme, life or anythin to it. Gallery and One Shot are the best that I heard. I couldn't get past the 5th song so I don't if there is any other gems. He's at his best on ballads. D+

The Story of Destiny

As many of yall know, I'ma huge fan of Destiny's Child (past and present) so of course I must put up a special update on my ladies. This is what they are all doing as solo artists so please keep up with them as they take over as individuals since they are the BEST SELLING FEMALE GROUP OF ALL TIME, thanks World Music Awards.

Kelly Rowland
The Vice President of Destiny's Child, Ms. Rowland (as in Ms. Ross) is up first. Her upcoming sophomore album, My Story... Kelly Rowland, is due early 2007 and she is playing no games. Simply Deep was an international success but she's looking to become a worldwide success this time around. I'll admit that I did not buy her album until 2 weeks before Destiny Fulfilled was released and then it was in the used section for 2.99 (FYE). Simply Deep did not impress me AT ALL but if you're into urban pop and alternative music with lyrics that are meaningful, check it out. So far the leaked songs from her album sounds good, her voice has matured well. Kelly performed last night as the headlining act of Macy's Glamorama. I'll up date yall on that as more info comes in. Here's The Story of Beauty mixtape made by saintpoland of dc3.fanfilled.com (mixtape cover made by Jason Smith) along with her new song, Darling, I Love You:

LeToya Luckett
Alot of people will disagree with me when I say that she is STILL a member of Destiny's Child. Well thats how I feel, she was my second favorite from the original line-up and I always kept my eye on her. (Anjel sucked and I was not about to support another girl group besides DC.) I was thrilled to find out in 2004 that LeToya had went solo and was signed to Capitol records after years of being jerked around. From then on I downloaded every bit of new songs I could find until May of 2006, when I found out that the majority songs I had were gonna be on her debut album coming in July. *damn* The album is FINALLY out and it debuted at #1, recently it earned a GOLD certification. My favorite songs are All Eyes On Me, Torn and So Special. The above photo is taken from LeToya's performance at the MOBO Awards, courtesy of Anjel's World. As soon as the video of it comes online, I will have it. LeToya will be making an appearance next week on Tyra for a huge interview about the Destiny's Child scandal and of course her album along with a performance/interview on Ellen 9/26. Here are her bonus leaked songs:

Michelle Williams
Destiny's Child's soulful angel, the one who gets the most hate. Before I even get into Michelle, I wanna say a few words. Michelle's voice is beautiful but an acquired taste. Her voice is like Fantasia, Mavis Staple and Tina Turner... they all possess that raspy texture to their voices. People wanna make fun of her because of her voice being one of those you love it or hate it type cases instead of taking the time to learn different voice types. *sighs* Anyways, Michelle has starred in Elton John's Aida on Broadway which showcased her singing and acting abilities as well as dropped 2 gospel albums, 2002's Heart To Yours and 2004's Do You Know. Heart To Yours, was the #1 best selling gospel album of 2002. Do You Know was her first album to crossover and chart on gospel as well as christian contemporary. Do You Know, is my favorite album from any DC member because it had GREAT heartfelt lyrics and the right number of ballads, midtempos and bangers. It makes her debut look like her demo. Currently, Michelle is working on her third album but its her first R&B/Soul album. She says there will be inspirational tracks on there as well for her fans. I can't wait to hear it. I don't see her as the next Beyonce but I'm sure she can be huge like Jill Scott and Fantasia. There's a song floating around called Love Thang and it is not new but one of her tracks off of Do You Know and it happens to be my favorite Michelle song. I'm glad that people are wanting it and loving it. Deborah Cox personally asked Michelle to appear on The Definition of Love and I have it here for you:

Beyonce
Last but certainly not least, we have the SUPERSTAR of the group. She is my favorite member and the reason why I fell in love with Destiny's Child to begin with. There is nothing I can say about Beyonce that you don't already know. She's currently in Europe, hopefully promoting her new album that is flopping there. She has already shot the video for Irreplaceable which will be the second single in Europe and the 3rd single US. I believe this will her first multi-format hit. For those still wondering when is she gon sit her ass down, well give her one more week and she'll be out of the picture for the entire month of October. Looks like she's gearing up for her huge promotion of DREAMGIRLS which will start in November. DAMN I cannot wait to see this movie and hear the soundtrack. I could careless about B'DAY. The photo below is from her new spread in Blender magazine courtesy of G'slady2020.

Destiny's Child dominated as a mega-group and now they are poised to dominate as solo superstars. As a long term fan, I will continue to support them and with this blog I will be promoting them.

Justified once again with the BIGGEST ALBUM of 2006!!

Justin Timberlake released his sophomore album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, last week and his first week sales were 684,000. He has surpassed all to claim the biggest selling album of the year. Congrats, Justin. Now its time once again for my infamous review.

FUTURESEX / LOVESOUNDS Review

FutureSex/LoveSounds- Well this song pretty much tells you the direction of this album. Electronic, funk, alternative pop with R&B undertones. Now themes of this album are sex and love ala Prince. This song is about sex and how he's gonna give get it to her. Its a great introduction and captures the essence he was goin for.

7/10

SexyBack- "He's bringing sexy back" and he sure did. Now this was the song of the summer for me. I loved it from first listen. Its club ready pop with R&B undertones. Timbaland did the damn thing on the production. Great first single but the video sucked for it.

12/10

SexyLadies/LetMeTalkToYou Prelude- This song reminds me of his first album, Justified. The first sign of filler because its basically somethin we've heard from him before. The prelude was so unnecessary because it did nothing but waste space and time.

4.5/10

My Love- The second single and another badass joint. He's sweet talking this girl into being his love. He loves singing in that damn falsetto. T.I comes in and lays a hott 16 on it to seal the deal. A future #1 hit.

9/10

LoveStoned/IThinkSheKnows Interlude- The production overwhelms his voice from the beginning only when his voice is doubled (chorus) is when his voice rides the beat. A song about him being lovestoned or sprung. Boring as hell. Its nice to him JT and Timbo beatbox battle on the part between songs. Another interlude not needed due to him just repeating the chorus or main idea of the song before it.

1/10

What Goes Around... / ...Comes Around Interlude- Another boring as hell song and a lil similar to Cry Me River. The things with Timbo beats are that the singer has to breathe life into them. Justin just whines over his beat. There's zero appeal to this song. The interlude is the only thing that makes this song worth listening too. But more than likely, it'll get skipped all together.

1.5/10

Chop Me Up- A nice R&B/Hip Hop collabo. Justin sings the first verse and choruses with Timbaland rapping the second and 3 6 Mafia ends it. I could have sworn he sanged about this earlier in the album, "LoveStoned". The production is nice due to that H-Town flava meets Timbaland sound.

6/10

Damn Girl- Very Prince inspired just by the way he sings it. It features will.I.am but his rap could have been left off. The song is decent but at this point I'm ready to turn it off and listen to something else. DAMN!

5/10

SummerLove/SetTheMood Prelude- FINALLY!! A song I can jam too. He can't wait to fall in love and she can't either... good ol puppy/summer love. The beat is NICE, I love the organs and the bridge has a great arrangement. The interlude is Justin's first sexy slow jam and its another added bonus to the previous song. He does some Prince like adlibs and they are pretty.

8/10

Until The End Of Time- I'm in love with this song. The lyrics are beautiful, he sings it to perfection and the beat matches everything. I love his adlibs on this damn song. Go head Justin, I was gettin bored but I'm back into the album now. He sings about your love is all he needs until the end of time.

12/10

Losing My Way- The production is lacking on this song and Justin needs a great beat in order to really shine. The song is about him losing his way and needing help. The preacher/choir is a nice touch but was it really necessary because I don't think this song is inspirational. What to rate it??

5/10

(Another Song) All Over Again- I believe this is the Rick Rubin produced track. The production is GREAT and Justin is able to shine. Still don't know what he singing about but it sounds good.

8/10

**Pose**- This is the bonus song on the international release. Sounds like it would fit better on Justified. Snoop Dogg does his thang on it. I could see this as a single for Europe. "Pose x3, strike a pose, only for my photos."

7/10

This album is all over the place. One minute he's tryin to be funky, electronic and alternative then he wants to be pop then R&B. I don't even think he knew what he was doing. He has fallen off from where he was. Justified was a classic album which I loved from beginning to end. This album had so many bore spots that impossible for me not to say his album has hit the sophomore slump. I congratulate him on being #1 worldwide and going platinum his first week out. Thats where it stops because his album does not deserve that much success. His voice has gotten considerably weaker and the production overwhelms is voice throughout the first half of the album. When the album is good then its GREAT but when its bad then its down right TERRIBLE and you flip flop like that from start to finish. Hopefully his next album will bring him back to form otherwise, Mr. Timberlake will be finding his way off my A-List. C+

More British music... Oh really?!?

I know yall wondering am I british with all this british music I've been posting lately but trust me, I'm all AMERICAN. Usually british R&B is hard as hell to find but lately I've found an oasis and I'm milkin it dry. LOL

Here is a Craig David mixtape I've put together called London, its consists of his unreleased songs, mixtape cover courtesy of Jason Smith:

I have seen so many variations of her supposedly second album. Now I wasn't a fan of the Spice Girls (the gayest group EVER) but on my forum someone said that Beyonce had covered Victoria's Resentment. So someone else uploads it and I discovered a new British talent, Victoria can actually sing!! Now she's no Mariah or even a JoJo but she does have a pretty clear, crisp voice. So here are both variations of her second album that also has 2 different names:

This past summer my cousins came all the way from England for a family reunion/holiday and they were telling me about Lemar. The only time I've heard of him is when he sanged beside Jamelia at the Brit Awards... now in retrospect they sounded damn good together. So I just found out his album leaked and if anybody has it then please leave a comment of where/how I can get it. Here are a few songs I was able to find, my favorite so far is Anniversary... they killed that duet.

Lemar & Joss Stone- Anniversary

Craig David, Jamelia, Lemar, Victoria Beckham are the only British acts that has proven to be just as good as their American counterparts. I'm diggin their music and I hope yall do too. Unless I get anymore music from these people or I discover a new talent. This is the end of my British updates for awhile. *tear*

Blog Update

As you have probably noticed yesterday, that I have put up a new layout. It took me all day to make it do to me being a perfectionist and going through several mishaps. I'm so proud of myself cuz I learned a lot about html. I hope yall like it. The new Comfort Zone banner was made by my good friend, Jason Smith, reppin them bloody Aussies. I'm tryin to get him to join as the official image guy, keep your fingers crossed. The picture used in the banner is of my hometown of JERSEY CITY (at sunrise) and it shows it by lookin from NYC. As soon as I found it, I knew I had to have it LOL. I'll be adding another treat by the end of the week. So be lookin out for it.

Now let me start my first real talk session:

Celebreality (Not what you see on VH1)

I think fans of celebrities get too involved in celebrity's personal lives. I was talkin to my friend and he was sayin he glad "blank" got raped because he cheated on "blank". I was like wtf, I didn't talk to him for almost a week cuz that didn't sit right with me. How can you support somebody gettin raped just because he cheated on your favorite celebrity?? Thats when you have taken it too far and you have lost touch with reality. When we talked about it later, he told me he only supports it when it happens to somebody who does somethin bad. Again, WTF?? I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, the torment and agony of rape. I feel sorry for the future if his mindset is shared by others. This world is really coming to an end when people actually find ways to support rape when its just plain WRONG!!!

Well that concludes Real Talk 101

SPOTLIGHT: The Men of R&B

R&B over the past few years has become a female driven genre. And I don't like it. Now as you see I do support the ladies but I'ma man and I ALWAYS must support/promote my dudes. So here are a couple of guys who are handling business in the second half of 2006.

John Legend
Reppin the Mid-west we got the male version of Ms. Keys, Mr. Legend. When I first heard him on Slum Village's Selfish, I was digging his voice. I was even more happy when I heard Used 2 Love U and that his debut album was on the way. I bought the album a month after its release because A) I didn't know it was out and B) I was waiting on hearing that second single (I'm no fool). I picked it up and its a CLASSIC, I be forgetting about that. One of the few male albums, that I've loved all the way through. His worst song is betta then half of the bullshit on radio. A 3 time Grammy Award winner. So why am I talkin about him... HE'S BACK with his sophomore release, Once Again, this October. In honor of him gracing us again with his presence, here are a few unreleased goodies from the Get Lifted album and his brand new single, Save Room

http://www.sendspace.com/file/fyrjgq

http://rapidshare.de/files/27017950/JLSRoom.rar.html

A new face and voice but you have already heard his words. He is the master writer behind Tyrese's Sweet Lady, Toni Braxton's Just Be A Man About It and Grammy winning Mariah's We Belong Together among others. Yes, he's already a Grammy winner and his debut album, Ocean Drive, is coming this December. His latest song Turn It Up pays homage to his favorite R&B stars and he hopes to add his name to the list. His voice is like John Legend meets Joe. So you know that man can sang. I had found all of his songs except Dope Fiend but the links are dead except for Better, which is his freestyle to Rick Ross' Everyday I'm Hustlin. So I'll have to upload the songs I have of his later on today. sighs

Better
http://www.zshare.net/download/johnta-austin-better-soulplace-homeboy-blogspot-com-mp3.html

R&B has a new male group on the scene. Now they aren't really new just a repackaged 3rd Storee (they lost a member and got a new name/sound). These boys are betta then ever. I discovered them while watching BET Afterdark, their single Fool Wit U, immediately caught my attention. They sample the Isley Brothers' Groove With U and recreated it. The Isley's must feel damn proud cuz they did their song TOTAL justice. I have no idea when their debut album is coming or what its named but I will update yall as soon as I get word. Here is their promo single including Fool With U, Callin on Me and Lights On ft. Fabolous

http://www.speedyshare.com/549168626.html

Marques Houston
He is back on his grown man swagger and his new found attitude is rubbing off greatly into his music. People need to stop sleeping on him, he's not whack at all. I bought his debut album like 2 months ago and realized that he really is good. I'll be picking up his sophomore shortly. I was given his leaked songs and they are on point. On Like This, he sings in his falsetto Chris Brown style but unlike Chris... Marques can ACTUALLY sing. His first single off his third album, The Veteran (due this November), is Favorite Girl and its a real nice, spring like midtempo. The women will love it.

Marques Houston - Miss Being Your Man
Marques Houston - Favorite Girl
Marques Houston Ft. Yung Joc - Like This

Mario
The best up & coming R&B star, period. Fuck the rest of the little boys cuz vocally they can't touch Mario. He's coming back with his third album as well, Effortless, in December. He's working with Alicia Keys, JD, Nelly and Akon. He also said it will include production by Scott Storch, the Neptunes and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I can't wait to hear this but he can keep Akon on an unreleased song locked up in the vaults. LOL The album is a showcase of his newfound manhood and his "mysterious side", I don't give a damn as long as its the best work of his life. He's known to have lots of filler on his albums so if he can limit those to like 1 or 2, then WE GOOD. Anyways, here are few jams thats not on his album but has found their way online:

She's It

Body Language

Boys II Men
Yes, you read right. It says Boys II Men, their back with actual new original recordings for a 2007 album release called The Remedy. They are truly back to form cuz the new material sounds GREAT. Michael the bass of the group is still no longer with them but he wasn't needed anyways. This is the BEST male group, VOCALLY!! So I'm looking forward to this album but I think it might be their last. I think this because its a double disc album, with the second disc serving as a mini greatest hits but redone the way they always wanted. They just acquired the masters of their hits/songs. Oh well if its the end, then its been a DAMN good run and wish them the best. Here are a few songs that has leaked from the Japan edition of The Remedy:

MUZAK
BOO'D UP
HAVING SEX
YOU DON'T LOVE ME

Yes I am aware that there are other males making noise in R&B but I don't like them so they gets NO love from me.

Walk With Me.... a British EXCLUSIVE!!!

Well I just found out that Jamelia's third album, Walk With Me just leaked last week. So of course I had to download it first and see if it meets my standards b4 telling yall about it.... it does. This is her best album yet, less fillers unlike her sophomore cd. So here's my review...

WALK WITH ME Review

Something About You- I love this song, I wasn't expecting this from her. She went poppish rock on me when I thought she would do more R&B instead of Pop. Its about her getting sprung on a guy b/c of his swagger (charm).

8/10

Do Me Right- I'm iffy on this song, I liked it at first but after awhile it becomes lackluster. Rumored to be a single, I hope not she has betta selections. It features hip hop pioneer, Afrika Bambaataa but he sounds Jamaican (Elephant Man). She's tellin a guy what she can do for him and to make sure he "DOES" her right.

5/10

Window Shopping- The whole song is a metaphor about just shopping for a guy who knows how to fuck. Fuck everythin else but do you know how to put it DOWN. LMAO She's a mess.

6/10

Know My Name- She's coaching ladies on making sure that their men be on their game and know their names. I find it as Jamelia filler, she's known for that. The beat is cute LOL But not my cup of tea

2/10

No More- Finally another song that I can dig into. I love the background harmonies during the chorus and throughout the song. She's not putting up with his crap NO MORE! She's too good 4 that. The song is the shortest on the album at 2:54, us Americans would call that an interlude. Damn good one at that.

7/10

Ain't a Love- At 3:46, this is the longest song on the album. LOL She's addressing a guy who says that their not dating but gets mad when she gets with another man. Its a nice jam.

6/10

La La Love- I lalala love this song! She's telling a guy that she loves him and she's sorry that never told him or failed to show him. Very beautiful midtempo but would have been HOTTA as a ballad.

8/10

Go- Now the album gets REALLY good. Its a ballad about taking control of your life otherwise you'll resent it. I saw her do this live on AOL Sessions and she gets more soulful with some stronger vocals.

8/10

Get Up, Get Out- Stop sayin your sorry and your gonna change, when you know you gon do it again. Jamelia says Get Up & Get Out and she means it. Nice arrangements cuz she switches her singin style on from the verses, pre-chorus, chorus and even the bridge. Thats the main reason why I dig it.

6/10

Beware of the Dog- THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM!!!! Think Rihanna's SOS but instead of being saved, your being warned not to mess with this no good dog. Beware that this is her 2nd single. Her best uptempo EVER!!

10/10

Got It So Good- Celebrate your life with no drama, that chapter of your life is over. Very nice feel good song. Jamelia sounds great on this, her voice is filled with life and passion. Potential single.

9/10

Hustle- Another GREAT uptempo bout a guy having to hustle if you want her or to stay with her. The beat is very NICE, horns heavy and yall already know I love me some horns. But the horns aren't live so it has a very pop feel to it.

9/10

**Love Me**- This is a bonus song but she needs to put this on the album. Her best ballad I've ever heard. The music is piano driven and sounds very poignant. She sings with song calmness, that brings out the beauty in the lyrics. I told yall I love me some ballads, so you know this and See It In a Boys Eyes from her last album are my top 2 favorites from her.

12/10

Her best album by far. I wasn't a fan of her back when her debut came out cuz the singles SUCKED. Her sophomore is when I had found out about her from a few online friends of mine. I checked her out and fell in love with her beauty and voice. She reminds me of Kelly Rowland but with Beyonce's star appeal and diva-ness. This album will take her out of being just a pop star but make her the UK's leading lady in black music. I recently found out she has plans on crossing over to America wit this album and if thats true then she needs to redo most of the beats, show some range in her voice and change the lyrics up. All of those are my problems with this album. Alot of her material sounds like weak ass leftovers from singers in the US. I wish she could work with some of our producers and songwriters cuz they would give her a damn good album. But for the UK, this is some of the best work I've heard. C+

GET ME BODIED with the #1 Best Selling Album by Female 2006, B'DAY!!!

Sorry that it has taken me an entire week to actually put up a post. But as you can tell my life is busy but I promise I will be doing alot better. I've been making some connections and I hope to be able to post alot of exclusives as well as music that you oughta know.

Enough about that tho, we're celebrating my wife's new album, B'DAY as the #1 album in the USA & WORLD!! She sold over 540,ooo to secure her spot in the US despite heavy competition from Bob Dylan, Christina Aguilera and Audioslave. Now here's my official review of an album I thought I wouldn't be hearing until 2007.

B'DAY Review

Deja Vu- I love this song, the more and more I hear it. But lets be real its Work It Out (musically) meets Crazy In Love (lyrically + plus Jay's random verses). I love the arrangement of the song how it crescends till the end where the beat takesover. I finally love the video and it works perfectly with the theme of this era.

8/10

Get Me Bodied- This is my favorite Beyonce banga. Shit is on point. I love how she added New Orleans bounce (music) in this. Lyrically, it reminds me of Jumpin Jumpin which is my fave ODC banga and the song that made me a diehard fan of the ladies. She truly is reppin her family from Louisiana which is good since we already have a H-town Chick.; The extended mix is betta is the one I usually play.

10/10

Suga Momma- This song is about her becoming somebody's suga momma where she's taking care of her man like a kept man. I love how B changes up her style by singing songs you wouldn't expect from the self-proclaimed "Independent Woman". The music is what made me fall in love with this song along with her adlibs (yessssssuh, yesssssssuh, YE-YEAAAAASUH). It has that southern charm to it plus its go-go

7/10

Upgrade U- Now this is B on her "bossy chick" swagger and I love it. Solange wrote this song and you can tell cuz it her style as seen on Kelly's Simply Deep album/ Bad Habit ("I can do 4 u, what Martin did 4 da people"). This has to be Jay & B's best collabo since '03 Bonnie & Clyde, due to them both stayin on topic and the fiery chemistry. The King of Hip-Hop and the Queen of R&B/Pop.

10/10

Ring The Alarm- B done stepped her game up on this one, first time we've heard B p!ssed off and me likes. My only problem with it is Swizz's production, does every song he make has to have those damn handclaps??? I wish the video would have been more Waiting 2 Exhale with the Sharon Stone/ police investigation scenes from the actual video. She would have shut it down with that.

7/10

Kitty Kat- The beat is nice but lyrically, this song is LACKING big time. Everytime I listen to this song, I bust out ROTFLMFAO. WTF was she thinking when she wrote this mess I love the lil rap (reminds me of her in Carmen) and the line "let's go lil kitty kat, I think it time to go, let's go lil kitty kat....."

4/10

Freak'um Dress- This beat is the best on the whole damn album, DAMN I LOVE GOGO!!!! The intro, bridge and ending is HOTT!!! Everything else is a mess cuz I have no idea what the hell she is talkin about. FILLER

4/10

Green Light- Funky as hell, for once Neptunes makes an original beat for somebody besides themselves. I love the trombone solo... horns is my fave instrument. The lyrics are half good and half bad.... haven't decided since I'm always dancing to it or jumpin to the chorus LOL. B is finally doin her 70's inspired music.

9/10

Irreplaceable- B's first solo pop song, that I actually enjoy (I hate Check On It and Naughty Girl = GAY ) This song brings back the B from ODC where she was male bashing (TWOTW). Also the beat has a country feel to it which works with the theme of the era, its also different for B since she's only done R&B and Pop (I could see this crossing over to country radio). The lyrics are on point, thank u Ne-Yo and Stargate.

9/10

Resentment- MY new FAVORITE BEYONCE SONG!! I thought nothin could beat Be With U but this has. I'ma HUGE sucker for ballads and she once again amazes me. Beautifully written by Walter and Candice, they set the canvas for Beyonce to create a masterpiece. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!!! I been tryin to learn the words so I can create a male version to perform in my gigs. Can't wait to be blown away by it on tour

20/10

Dangerously In Love was more mature but B'DAY shows another side of B which we've neva seen before. The beats are CRAZY hott with the lyrics being sub-par at times (vice versa with DIL). This album is B channeling Deena (Dreamgirls character) but singin more like Sasha (her alter ego). I love the theme of this era with B adding a more natural feel to her look along with being the glamour queen that I love. Also she's letting people get to know who she is with exposing her Creole roots. I hope she takes 2 years off before her next album so she can grow as a writer. Thats my only problem with B'day are the lryics. She should let other people write songs for her and she just personalizes it. Oh well she can't be great at everything. I wish she would have taken time and expanded on these ideas instead of rushin & puttin it together. She has beaten the sophomore jinx and thats what I truly care about. B+

Now my attention can return back to Dreamgirls (movie and soundtrack this Holiday season) and to Ms. Rowland's sophomore effort, My Story due February 2007.
